Yeeha we have broadband!

Talk Talk came through for us a bit earlier than they'd estimated and our broadband and landline went live this afternoon - so that's pretty good.  Amazing how much you miss it when it's not there!  3G cards are for the birds.

Some pictures of pudding taking today and earlier on this week ... what a sweetie pie he is!

Lovely smiles

The kids are on holiday. So today I took them on the bus into Norwich to have a look at the British Heart Foundation shop, where they sell furniture and what not (a bit like Cash Converters but for a good cause!)  Well I ended up buying a wardrobe with shelves, a bedside table, two dining room chairs (cos one of ours is broken and we need another spare one for the kitchen), a display cabinet for the lounge ... all for 85 pounds, plus a small delivery charge.  They are delivering the stuff tomorrow morning.   So that's cool.

I am going for an interview tomorrow night in Norwich (Hayzel is coming with me for moral support), so we'll see how that goes.

I understand that Eric and Ingrid went round to see Ally today, which was really sweet of them.  Not long now ... only 3 more sleeps and we will be welcoming you to Blightey my dear!   Can't wait.

34 Lime Tree Avenue

Well we're in ... the garage is full (basically another house worth of stuff is in there).  We are still trying to get everything unpacked and in its right place ... there is still a lot of clutter about but at least I can take photos today!

My room, still sorting out shite

Looking from my room doorway towards Kevin and Hayzel's room

My bathroom window

Looking from my bathroom towards Ewan's room (with the pale green walls)

Inside Hayzel's room - cupboards on either side of bathroom door.

Looking down into garden and gazebo from Hayzel and Kevin's bedroom

Ally's bedroom door, my bedroom door (open), airing cupboard and Ewan's door (open on extreme right)

Downstairs dining room that is now a kiddies play room - Hayzel and Kevin sorting out just half of the kiddies toys!

Inside looking towards front door - guest toilet to right, kitchen to left

Looking into kitchen from entrance hall

Guest loo

Looking into lounge from double doors - note Hayzel's new 50" monster tv and sound bar

Looking from corner of lounge towards outside - dining room table is on the right (not in photo)

Utility area with washing machine and our tumble dryer on top. Laila has her own sleeping quarters!

Looking out from backdoor to garden

Office - my desk and Kevin's x-box set up is on the left.

View from my 'office' window.
I didn't take photos of the kiddies rooms, as they are still in a bit of a mess.

Our impending move

Hi everyone, I just wanted to say that most probably from tomorrow you may not be able to get hold of us on our phones for a while, until we've sorted out a dongle (3G) and some airtime.  TalkTalk (who are our service providers for broadband, phone, internet) have to upgrade the line at our new house because it's old or some such telecommunications claptrap.   This means that we will effectively not have our telly / broadband or landline running when we move in this weekend and they can only come and actually do something about it at the end of May.    Once we have the dongle/3G we will be able to skype, text, email etc. but we won't have a landline.  Oh and our landline is going to change (because of the upgrade to the line).   So if we don't respond to sms's, whatsapp, email straight away, please bear with us.

Allyson, this does not affect you when you land at Heathrow!  We will still be able to communicate with you using our cellphones.  Just make sure to buy a UK sim and about 10 pounds worth of airtime from WH Smith at Heathrow duty free or on the concourse when you get there and send a message to Hayzel or Kevin or me when you are at Costa coffee shop.   They will most probably be there to meet you anyway, because they are leaving from here sparrow farts in the morning.

Mr. Turner ... the movie

Slightly off topic, I realise ... but I can't wait to see this film.  Such a pity my mum isn't around to have been able to watch it, as the Fighting Temeraire was one of her most favourite paintings by the great man.

Lucky girl

We decided to give Faye some of her presents yesterday and she got the rest this morning.

All set to go riding - pity it was so rainy yesterday!

She can now go riding with her brother - he got his bike for Christmas last year

She's into Bratzilla dolls at the moment!

Faye's account of her trip to Kingswood (as dictated to her Nana, who edited it a bit in the typing up)

Wednesday afternoon
After we arrived at Kingswood, we were taken to our building - Kingswood is like a little town and there are lots of buildings. Our building was called Blickling.  We then went to the dormitory and got sorted out.  I shared a room with Megan, Lucy, Hannah, Katie and Caitlin.
After we'd unpacked, we lined up and went to the dining hall next door.  We had chicken nuggets, pork meat balls and chicken curry ... the chicken nuggets ran out, so I had pork meat balls.
When we had eaten dinner, we all got into our costumes because there was a pool party.
After the pool party, we went back to our rooms and got into our pyjamas.  Then later we all went back to the dining hall for Hot Chocolate.  I cried for about two hours because I missed everyone so much.

Thursday.
After breakfast we all lined up and were met by our instructor, Emily, who is Scottish.  She took us to the zipwire.  It was a rickety structure to climb up and I was very nervous because it was higher than the leisure centre in Long Stratton and I was the second person to go on it.  Emily makes you close your eyes and walk back, then walk forward and you don't know when you are going to go off, so suddenly you are in the air and flying down on the zip wire. I screamed the loudest.  Mrs Best said I had the loudest voice because my voice carries.   I went on it again.
Next we lined up and waited for Lian (a boy). We went to do the quad biking.   We had to do a driving test and I got 10 out of 10!
After quad biking, we had lunch, then lined up for another instructor (can't remember the name) who was ten minutes late because of the rain.  This time we went to learn circus skills, which was a great deal of fun.
Later we had a team challenge and there was a big seesaw that we had to balance on, it was difficult.
We had dinner and then later we went for a campfire, we all got soaked as it rained a lot that night!
After the campfire, we came back to our rooms, got into pyjamas and then again, we had some Hot Chocolate before going to bed.

Friday
After breakfast we went rockpooling down at the beach.  I caught 5 big crabs, 1 fish and sea slugs, which we put in buckets.  It began to hail and it stung our faces.  We got soaked and were all a bit stiff walking back to the dormitories.  I was last because I was the wettest!
We went to the cinema and watched half of 'Flushed Away' before Mrs. Hancock (Faye's teacher) came and asked us if we wanted to get changed.  We went and changed and then came back and watched the rest of the movies.
After lunch, we got on the bus to go home.

It was awesome and my favourite activity was the zip wire.  It was the best time ever.

Och aye

I'm going on another Highland jaunt with my Auntie Jean towards the end of September to the West coast of Scotland ... we'll be going to the Isle of Mull (the town, 'Tobermory' is often referred to in the kiddies CBeebies show 'Balamory') ... can't wait!

Happy Birthday my cousins!

It's Paul and Mark Carter's birthdays this month, so hope they have a great day (Mark on the 8th and Paul on the 9th).    Please could Auntie Barbara pass on the wishes?   Lots of love from all of us here at Spider's Web.
