Our little elf ...
What a lovely little boy he's growing into hey? And so pleased he was able to wear his Elf onesie that we sent at Christmas time because I understand it's a bit chilly there in Durbs. Such a cutesy pie he is.

Bits and bobs
Hayzel did one of her colleagues at work hair on Sunday and she also gave Faye a new make over (a fringe and layered cut), plus a new do for Ewan.
She's doing my hair this weekend - I'm having a soft perm and a new colour, cos I don't want to be blow drying my hair all the time on the ship. I'm having a right old time of it coming up with outfits! I haven't bought or worn a dress since I was 35, so it's a bit of a stretch for me to find anything remotely resembling 'elegant' or 'cocktail-ish' or 'formal'. Anyhoo, thanks to ye olde Interwebs I've managed to buy a few things online - not that I'm happy with most of it but it will have to do :) My Auntie Jean's wardrobe department has also helped somewhat .... thanks for the suit, Jean! :)
I've made an appointment to see the doctor about my left shoulder, to see if they can help me sort out the rotator cuff impingement because it's now over 3 years and the pain is getting noticeably worse. I discovered that Ibuprofen - which is what I've been using to help with the pain - RAISES blood pressure, so that may have helped me along the way to A&E last weekend because I took two of them things before I went to bed on Sunday night. Needless to say, I'm not using them anymore. Any analgesic will raise BP but maybe the doctor can give me something safer?? Who knows. I'd like a cortisone injection, to be honest but doubt that'll happen. Morphine wouldn't go amiss.
Speaking of missing ... I am fed up that my boys haven't wanted to SKYPE me for quite a while. And I was a bit miffed that they didn't contact me after I came out of hospital for a skype call - huh? Ja, ja, I know you were Whatsapping me the whole time and I understand that you have busy lives and blah-blah ... but I need to talk to my sons more regular like. Keep that in mind, or else.

Tooting my own trumpet
Yes folks, I actually SOLD a painting goddamit. :) And to a really cool dude who does snowboarding - he's off to France as we speak and I only have to send the painting when he gets back at the beginning of March.
So I'm quite royally chuffed with myself.

A bit of a fright
I ended up in an ambulance on sunday night after i seemed to have looped out for a bit ... i didnt recognise my room or the cat and kept demanding to know the date and year.i said that i'd made my cel fone case months ago, wheni facti made it that day. the paramedcs did a whole load of tests in my bedroom and then i was wheeled into the ambulance. Ewan slept through it all.i ended up in AMU at NNorwich university hospital, they said i woud have a CAT scan and then proceeded to do a battery of tests. Anyhoo to cut a long story short i had very high blood pressure and later they discovered that i ahave a urinary tract infection - both of which can cause confusion. It wasnt necessary for the scan as they said i didnt exhibit any signs of neurological damage. the BP went down a bit and they let me go home at about 6pm.. so I'm just laying about today. Ally is home and has been watching the kids who r now on school holidays.
Sorry for the shoddy typing and grammar ..doing this from my tablet. dont want to go near my laptop 'til tomorrow else i'll be forced to work. thanks for all the messages on whatsapp folks.

Testing Ewan's Wellies
We bought Ewan some new wellies and army pants last week as his old pair of wellies were to small for his gallomping galloopers (feet)! They are nice and high so he can walk through deep puddles and mud.
So on Valentines Day we went for a romantic walk in the woods.
Ewan gave his wellies a good test drive and is very happy with them.

February 6th?
We have it that Oma's birthday is on February 6th - it's on all our calendars but now I understand that this is wrong - please could one of you give me the correct date?
Anyway, this is a belated happy birthday to an awesome woman, who I believe turned 96 this month!
Other news
Well, this last couple of weeks have seen some massive changes on the job front here at Lime Tree Avenue. Hayzel went for two interviews - one two miles from here in Fritton and the other one just outside Diss. Allyson went for an interview last week at a care home situated right smack bang next-door to the family doctors and Faye's school.
Allyson has spent the last couple of days doing her 'induction' - as she's been given the job at Meadowlands, she does her last induction day today, then tomorrow she is handing in her resignation at Hethersett. This is really great because it means that she can concentrate on saving up now for her own place in Long Stratton - she can walk to work! so no transport costs. The place is a new facility and very 'larny'. I met her manager yesterday afternoon, Ruth, who 'can't wait' for Allyson to start working there permanently.
Hayzel had a couple of days' stressful waiting but was phoned yesterday during her lunchtime and awarded the job in Fritton. This is at an asset management company and they even offered her MORE salary than she asked for! The hours are better, she gets more leave and she can also ride a bike to work, it's that close from us! She is over the moon and very pleased - she had to give her notice in today.
I have secured regular work from a company I approached before Christmas - I had to do a whole battery of tests but they've taken me on and I should be getting the first audios from them on Thursday - I'm excited and nervous at the same time. At least I should be getting more regular income and can still work from home.
Well done to everyone!
Sicky poos and Valentines' disco.
Ewan was not well on Friday last week, so I kept him at home - he didn't really get much better and I took him to the doctor on Monday, a viral thing and not much to do about it just keep him warm and give proprietary medicine. He was a lot better yesterday and is going to school today.
Faye has a Valentine's Disco at her school tonight - from 6pm for a couple of hours. So that should be fun, she bought herself some clothes specially for the occasion and I will take a picture and post it up here later on today.
New phone
I organised myself a Motorola MotoG with 4G through Tescos this past weekend and they delivered it to me yesterday. Lovely phone - my new number is: 0754 357 2364
I am giving my old Samsung to Faye this week, so she will now be able to Whatsapp her Granny properly again!

On my ownsome today
The famdamily are still in London and I hope having a great time. The weather hasn't been too great here - we've had snow, sleet, hail, rain, wind, snow ... every now and then the sun peeks through but it's not been very warm.
I went into Norwich yesterday with Allyson, she wanted to get herself some Levi jeans but once we found the place (after having a breakfast at Ed's Diner), we soon realised that their jeans are major over-priced. She managed to find herself some jeans eventually - after we walked Norwich flat -and at a reasonable price. And ... tah dah ... I actually bought myself a pair of jeans as well - glory be, it WILL snow now! Even more amazing is that both Ally and myself couldn't be arsed to stand in the queue to try our clothes on - which is not necessarily a good thing historically when it comes to clothes shopping for ME ... but glory be, mine fit perfect (so do Ally's). She was supposed to have this whole weekend off but Hethersett called her in to help out today - so I'm on my lonesome. It's crap without the kiddies here. I'm missing them so much.
Anyway, I'll be off to fetch them from Diss train station a bit later on ...
Cheers
