Announcement - new blog for virtual South African photo album.

Hi everyone ...
I have a load of dvd's that I burned in South Africa, containing photos and videos of the family that I took with my old Finepix camera from around 2005 onwards.   I've started putting these onto a separate archive blog.   If you would like the link to it, please let me know because I'm keeping it only for invited viewers at this point (the interweb being what it is).   You may not have received an invite, cos I've tried twice now and not got any responses.  So please email me to be sent a request.

Oma ...

Sadly Oma passed away on Saturday, 6th February - she had just turned 97.  Our thoughts are with everyone in South Africa at this time.     

I remember her the way she is in the picture above - a quiet, dignified, gracious lady, who always had a twinkle in her eye.       She will be greatly missed.

Up and away ... soon to come

Well the exciting news of the weekend is that we have eventually managed to book the flights for our next South African 'tour'.   We're all flying Virgin, leaving Heathrow on Thursday 26 May at 20:05  - arriving O R Tambo on Friday 27 May at 0755.
We fly back on Wednesday 8 June at 20:20 from O R Tambo and arrive at Heathrow on Thursday 9th June at 0635 (hopefully Ewan doesn't upchuck his breakfast).

It will be epic.

I am not going to say anything about this on Facebook - (please note Ally and all who are on Faceplant).  The reason for this is there are a lot of awfully nosy, meddlesome, bitchy people here in Long Stratton and I don't want said personages knowing anything about this planned excursion for a whole load of reasons.   So less said on FB the better, alright?

Can't wait.
