T Wood ... April Fool's day walk and mini-picnic

The weather is getting better so I decided to go out today on an excursion, I was going to go to Covehithe (quite a wild beach about 45 mins away) but couldn't find the GPS, so had to pick somewhere much closer. :(   Oh well, it's always nice to go to Tyrells Wood - it's different no matter what time of year you go.  Woodland Trust management seem to have been doing a lot of clearing up of all the old dead trees and bushes, building new bridges and it looked like they'd also tried to clear a lot of the nettles away from where they usually are, which will be good later on (but I'm not sure, the nettles may still come back in force).   There was a lot of water in the wood today, even forming fair sized ponds in places and the streams were quite lively.
Towards the end of this month and throughout May is when the bluebells start coming into flower - there is another wood in Costessey (not far away) that apparently has swathes of them under the ancient trees in May, so I hope to be able to go there soon.   I saw lots of bluebell clumps (leaves) today in T Wood but no flowers.    But there were primrose, daffodils, hairy violet (my photo was blurry so can't post it here), buttercups everywhere and some pockets of snowdrops.

Anyway, I took a few photos of the stuff we saw (didn't get to take a shot of the rather large grey squirrel that ran past but you can't have it all).

Trying to identify this one with my British flowers book - will update soon

New habit now ... every time you go anywhere with Faye and Ewan they turn it into a film location and start making mini movies ... cute but annoying at the same time.   They did actually get involved later on looking at the natural stuff and did a lot of running around, which is always good exercise and the whole aim of the trip really hey?

These birdies were very high up in the trees and wouldn't come closer - they were singing together and calling to other pairs of birds in nearby trees - I think these are Blue Tits.  I also saw a pair of Robins.
