Ewan's a bit sicky poo

We came home from school on Wednesday, after Ewan had done his second three-quarter of an hour Kook Sool Won training and he promptly fell alseep on the upstairs landing carpet (it is lovely and soft, I don't blame him!).  Shame he has had a bit of a cough and slightly runny nose most of this week.

Note Superman is also having a bit of a lie down.
Anyway, we decided to keep him at home today, as his cough was still quite bad and he has a temperature.  Of course, he doesn't appear to be in the least bit sick at the moment. I got him an Octonauts comic, complete with more sea creatures and he's currently playing on my bed with all his Octonaut family and making the relevant sound effects, singing the theme tune.

Faye and Ewan got some cute thingies yesterday from their Auntie Sharon, Uncle Dawie, Granny and Grandpa ... (the parcel was posted from within the UK, obviously by Oom Dawie ... :) )
You can see one of the sticker books in the left hand corner of the photo above.  So later on we will have to make a big pirate picture and put all his pirate stickers on it.

I've had a couple of wobbly days with the transcript typing.  Well, let me rephrase that, I haven't had any transcript typing to do for two weeks now, which is the wobbly.  I spoke to them yesterday and today and it appears that this is traditionally a quiet month and we will only see things start to pick up early to mid October.   That's all well and good but I have to earn a regular income.
Anyhoo, I contacted a couple of other transcript companies (God, there are HUNDREDS in the UK!!) and I've just been taken on by another company who are based in Kent.  I hope to start getting work from them soon.

Anyhow, hope everyone has a lovely weekend, chat soon.

Nana Smurf and Spinning Shoes

I had a rush of blood to the head this weekend whilst out shopping at Morrison's with Hayzel and was encouraged in the purchase of BLUE haircolour by a fellow shopper and her husband, who said if I liked it then I should do it!  So I did it ... I went and tinted the hair blue, well more like my scalp was a luminous neon blue and I had streaky bits of blue, green and silver in the rest of my hair.  I'm nothing, if not adventurous.
Foto doesn't really show up the blue much, trust me it was blue (mostly) ...

Anyway, after a night being a blue bottle, I decided to sort it out and put some brown on, to get it back to a degree of 'normal'  So the end result tonight is a rather dark brown with a slight halo of blue.

Back to kind of normal

Faye and Ewan's Granny and Granpa in SA sent them some money recently, so Hayzel took Faye out this weekend and the result are these stunning Bella Ballerina shoes that Faye chose herself.  She wore them to a birthday party that she went to at the Norwich Riverside Bowling Alley today.

I had to crop the picture of Faye (below) modelling her shoes, as a certain 4 year old boy was in the process of changing behind her in his room and er ... certain parts of anatomy were proudly on display!

My boys ...

This was taken on Monday when Ewan started going to school for the first time for the whole day:

Some more photos of Daniel taken in the last week or so ... he's changing quite a lot and putting on weight nicely.  What a lovely little peanut he is!

Stop sticking the camera so close Dad!

That was a good joke!

What you looking?  Turn the lights off it's not morning already is it?

Hu-ha!  Hulk crush puny humans ....

Me just too cute.

L'il Dragons ... Kook Sool Won

Ewan had his first martial arts lesson yesterday afternoon. I was so proud of him.. The instructor, 5th Dan, Andy Gillingwater said he would have 'no problems, he's picked it up straight away'.  Ewan really concentrated hard and made sure he tried to do every move in the three-quarter of an hour class.  He's very excited about doing this regularly.      He goes to the L'il Dragons club which employs the Kuk Sool Won methodology - there are 1.3 million members in over 800 schools worldwide in 27 different countries.

The days are starting to get colder here - it's been quite freezing actually in the early morning, so we all have to wrap up now like it's going to snow (but it won't just yet).  I don't mind the cold at all, providing I'm dressed for it.

A bit of a close shave ...

So last night, I was typing away on my laptop trying to finish some work and Hayzel suddenly burst into my room, with a bleeding Ewan.  His face, hands, vest and chest were smeared with quite a lot of blood .. he just stood there looking a bit bewildered at all the attention, he wasn't crying.
Turns out, while we were all busy sorting out our stuff last night, after the kids were IN BED SLEEPING, he sneaked into the bathroom.  He grabbed a handful of bubble foam that was left from when I had had my bath a few minutes earlier, put it on his face (as you do when you're going to shave) and then got hold of Mum's shaver and proceeded to give himself a nice Van Dyk.  Of course, he must have been pouting a lot because he actually shaved his top and bottom lip.

He's fine, it's healed up fine.  I'm still smiling at how funny this is.

Diss Leisure Centre

Hayzel and I took the kiddies to the Leisure Centre up the road in Diss (about 9 miles away) for a bit of swimming.  They have two pools, huge inflatable obstacle course in the deep end (a la Wipe Out).  There is also a sauna and jacuzzi.  It was quiet when we got there but they actually  hadn't opened the place for swimming yet and we had a bit of a wait - about 5 minutes.  It's a clean and well kept place and the kids had a lot of fun.  Next time, I'll actually take my costume and swim - cos I would have looked like an FHM model next to some of the beached whales that were there today.  Anyway, I did a small video with the cellphone (sorry to all the purists, it's not YouTube material at all) ... you're not allowed to take cameras inside.
But you can take mobile phones ... huh, go figure??

I bought a coffee percolator this morning from Asda on the sale - so now we can have yummy real coffee occasionally.   I also bought peanut some more clothes and will be sending some stuff to Andrew and Leigh next week.  I'm also including the kids school photos, if you could please give them to Ingrid and Eric?

Kids back to school

Hayzel and Kevin took today off, to be able to go with the kiddies when they started in their new classes (Ewan, of course started Reception Year - big school!).  It was very hot today - 29 to 30 degrees and about as humid as Durban, phew!  Who said the weather was crap in the UK?  Wrong.
Kevin has done a movie of today's preparations for school and will probably post it next.   In the meantime, a couple of photos taken recently and today.

A picture I did for Faye, cos I've actually NEVER done a Fairy Picture and it's something she asked me to do a long time ago.   She was pleased with this effort, so that's the main thing!

One proud little chap ready to go off to School, with his Manorfield Nursery School book bag ... he's got much more uniform with logos on etc. but the rest of the clothing is for the winter, so he's still basically wearing his summer uniform but with black socks and new shoes.

Faye immediately after running in the front door after school - Laila jumping all over her.  Is this the face of a disappointed child?!
Another well-chuffed smile, straight after arriving back home from school today.

Two poppits - note how Ewan has been sweating!
Ewan doesn't go full day yet, he only goes in the afternoons from 1pm to 3pm for another day and then next week he goes for most of the day.  He only starts going full day towards the end of next week (I think).  Shame, they should just let them start and go for the full day, because they are so excited and just want to go to school!  Nice.

Daniel

A little movie of the Whatsapp fotos and videos stitched together, that I've got on my system.  Not in correct chronological order, I know and not on YouTube cos these aren't HD images (for all the purists out there) ...
