Update from sunny sarf effrica

Hey!    Well the flight over was okay - we all managed to get a couple of minutes shut eye - some more than most (i.e. the kids).   Dave and Mags met us at the airport and took me and Faye to Andrew's house ... well eventually, after a 45 minute hold up on the R24 due to an accident.   Hayzel and Kevin plus Ewan followed later in the hired car - a teensy weensy little Kia.

Granny and Grandpa came to visit in the afternoon, which was really nice.
Dave had to go back to work and came back later in the afternoon with Ally and Mags.   A bit later on, Andrew and Leigh were home and so the partying began in earnest.  We had a great braai and the kids were first to crash out - this picture was taken in the morning, they slept in a bit later than usual!

On Tuesday Hayzel and I had to go to Sandton to meet our accountant and then go to Standard Bank - which has, er, been demolished and replaced with a much larger, larneyer bank.
Apply within, reasonable rent, nice kerb appeal, great location in the heart of Wynberg

Of course all Faye wants to do is swim.    The weather is great, we felt the heat when we arrived because we still had Engrish clothing on but it's not too bad at the moment.   Hayzel and I have done a bit of shopping, I have to say that the price of meat and certain other things (like clothing) has rocketed. A large pack of pork chops - R222.  A medium sized pack of mince R78  We are used to buying a chicken, pack of mince and some pork chops all for 10 pounds.  Gauteng is one mass of concrete, more retail or office parks have gone up around Greenstone since we left - no open spaces for kids to play.  I'm not sorry we left.
