Not much to report ...

Hi guys
Hope everyone has had a good weekend.   Just wanted to ask if you could put some recent photos up here of you all, Dave?  We don't seem to have many photos of you guys on this blog that were taken recently and it's nice for the kiddies to see you all, it's also nice for me ... :)  ... because I'd like to print them out and put in frames, my purse or in my locket, stick on the fridge ... you know how it goes.

The kiddies are having a nice holiday, I think.  They spent three days last week doing 'Waste Watchers' which is run by the local Church and it was a nice break for me for a few hours each day.   The weather was really hot last week, which made it a bit uncomfortable for me (and Hayzel, I think, as her office has pokey little windows and not much air gets in).   The Brits aren't big on air conditioners.

Yesterday, Hayzel and I went into Norwich twice.  First time was to find Fashion Fabrics, using the trusty GPS ... nope that didn't work because the stupid GPS woman must be from another planet.  So came home, got onto internet and found the shop, which was hidden behind a whole bunch of other roads.  We then did a proper Google Earth walk about so we knew where the frickin shop was and a couple of hours later, went back into Norwich (we're nothing if not resilient).

We found the shop pronto, which is supposed to be one of the largest fabric retailers in Norwich ... what a joke.  They had about fifty rolls of material and such crap, it was major depressing and the shop assistant was embarrassed, saying that they were getting more fabric in soon.   They had two floors of curtaining!  Well we were right properly pissed off at the waste of time (and petrol) and went back home again, empty handed.

Made me very homesick for the two rugby-fields sized fabric shop that is Chamdor over there in Edenvale ... now THAT is a fabric store.   Anyhoo, there is another so-called 'largest fabric retailer in the UK'  called Anglian Fabrics ... and we're going to try and get out to see that next weekend.  I'm not holding my breath.

I think I'm a bit depressed at the moment, well tonight.  Missing everyone quite a lot.    We are making enquiries about airfares, I've spoken to some really strange characters this week from Ethiopian Airlines and done loads of research on TripAdvisor, as well as getting feedback from Dawie Botha ... so it looks like we might end up going via Addis Ababa in December.   We've not booked anything yet but are close.

Oh well, another week looms up on the horizon, hope you all have a good one and that the weather is lovely wherever you are.     I think it's National Play Day next week (7th August) ... so we will be going down to the Leisure Centre, as most of the activities are free on the day for the kiddies.  Should be fun, I'll take some pictures.

Lots of love to everyone from all of us - and a special big hug and kiss to Oma and Ingrid ... I understand it's not all roses at the moment for Oma, so I hope she starts to feel better soon. We're thinking about you all the time.
