Lazy Sundays

Hey another week over, scary how the time just whizzes past.  We have been in the UK one whole month tomorrow, what!?  It's still a surreal feeling for us to realise that we are actually here and getting on with our life, same as everyone else.

Thanks to all family and friends for your continued messages of support, it's important for us to hear from you as often as possible and very necessary for the kiddies too!   It was great speaking to Andrew this afternoon on SKYPE again, that is such an awesome application, I can't imagine how people got by without it in bygone days.  Makes a person feel connected, even though we are still far apart.

When we arrived in Long Stratton we weren't sure where everything was, or what amenities there actually were available for the kiddies to use.   We now know that there is a large piece of ground just around the corner (behind the Nursery School) full of equipment that children (and Adults) can use for play.   All the outdoor facilities are well maintained, clean, graffiti free ... and of course, not a hobo/vagrant/opportunistic psychokiller in sight.    Here's a few of the pictures that Hayzel took the other day whilst Kevin and her were out with the kiddies exploring:

Again, if you click on the picture it will take you to the actual sized image and you can scroll through all the pictures in one go.

All that space to run around in

Can't believe this!  Out in the open air, perfectly usable fitness equipment, no charge, all shiney ... just waiting for you to hop on.  Bloody hell.  This wouldn't last five seconds in a park in Gauteng!

We tried the kiddies uniforms on the other day ...

Of course, Ewan wanted to go to school straight away.   He starts on Wednesday and Faye starts on Tuesday.   I think they are ready for it now, they need to play and be with kiddies their own age for a change - something that's apparent when Tim, Toni and their two boys come to visit (like today) ... it's so nice to see them all getting along and playing together.

Next week should be interesting ... hope you all have a good Monday.
Love and hugs to everyone.

  3. Great to see the kids having fun, spring will be here soon and they will have a blast. Norfolk is one of the nicer areas of England, it's a wise choice, I'm glad you didn't settle in MK as it's nowhere near as nice as where you are. That fitness gear wouldn't last here long either, trust me. There is a fair bit of crime here, one of the reasons we are moving...keep up the good work on the blog, I suppose we should start one when we get to Hungary.

  4. Thanks for your comments, Steve ... we also think that, so far, we've made a good decision coming here - but will all feel much better and settled once we have jobs/income. I am looking forward to your impressions of life in Hungary via a blog.
